Cat Museum The Cat Museum is located within the Kuching North City Hall and admission is free. It's about a fifteen minute drive from the Kuching Water Front using the Satok bridge but it will take a lot longer during peak traffic times. If one is a cat lover, this is a must place to see. Follow me as I take you on a little tour.

Kuching City Parade The place to be in August... Each year Kuching has a parade to coincide with the Kuching Food Festival. It starts around 6 PM and begins behind St. Peters Church then proceeds along Jalan Padungan then Main Bazaar and ends at the Merdeka Park. If you are looking for color in a parade then this is one you should not miss. Follow me as I ham it up with some of the participants. Afterwards you can chow down some local food at the Food Festival. A good place for one to sample the local cuisine from all the ethic groups located around Kuching.

Colour of Natures Tour with Benedict.

Colours of Nature On August 10th 2008 I went with my friends to the Borneo Highlands Resort for its "Colours of Nature" an yearly event in conjunction with the resort's 8th Anniversary. Borneo Highlands Resort is an hour drive (60km) from Kuching city where you will find a mountaintop resort hidden away in the world's oldest and second largest tropical rainforest. It is located atop a jungle clad plateau in Borneo's lush rainforest sitting at 1,000 meters above sea level on the Sarawak-Kalimantan border.

Visitors Information Center When visiting Kuching, this is the first place one needs to go... The Sarawak Tourism Board Information Counter Kuching is located within the old Court House building. Erected in 1883 it's a place one should check out as well. Actually many visitors just walk by the place without visiting the information center as well as the complex itself. You may be surprised in what you may see and find. One note though, since my visit, they did do a little renovation and moved the entrance to the counter to the first door on the Carpenter Street side.

Touring Friendship Park with Benedict.

Friendship Park Kuching One day I and my friends went and took a little tour of a place called Friendship Park. It is located near where I live at the intersection of Jalan Song and Jalan Urat Mata. This place is not on the normal tour guides list of places to visit but if one is visiting Kuching, one may just want to put it on your list. It's a small local park that has a nice garden, man-made pond with fountains, a stern of a ship with a statue of the famouse Chineses admiral and a two-story Chinese style building. In fact if you are lucky, one may see a bridal couple having pictures taken and if you are not into that, take your jogging shoes for a little exercise. if you get hungry, one can just cross the street and you will find many places to have a drink and bite to eat at the shop houses.

Sarawark Museum When visiting Kuching, the Sarawak Museum in on the tour map and one should leave a few hours on the schedule to visit. Depending on the season use it as a rainy day activity as with some of the other indoor museums located along the way. Become a Gene Kelly with the umbrella and kick a few puddles and walk the short distance from the waterfront and one will beccome surprise what one would come across. By the way on the second floor is where one would find the local head hunters trophies.
